Portfolio of architect
I design spaces that honor their past while embracing the future, working at the intersection of what's practical, sustainable, and feels right.
I design spaces that honour their past while embracing the future. Over the past decade, I have worked across three continents, turning a Moscow park into a winter wonderland for thousands of people, converting a German trade school into a learning space for children, and teaching the next generation of architects in Bangkok about the way cities work.

I don't believe in erasing history or forcing function. Instead, I identify what a space wants to become and help it achieve that. Whether it's a penthouse in Hamburg, a Moscow riverside area, or a wellness centre seeking its identity, I work at the intersection of what's practical, sustainable, and feels right. Based in Hamburg and working independently, I help clients see possibilities they didn't know existed — and then make them real.

Bangkok, THAILAND (2014-2017)
I spent four years teaching architecture and urban design, and I have learned as much as I taught. Rather than staying in the studio, my students and I went out into Bangkok's streets, markets and waterfronts to learn to read the city through the eyes of the people who actually use it. Through participatory projects such as 'The River Voices', we collaborated directly with local communities, translating abstract design concepts into meaningful discussions about how public spaces could cater to their needs. Teaching showed me that the best architects don't impose solutions; they facilitate possibilities. This has shaped a lot I have done since.

2015: INDA Year 2 Architectural Design I – Architecture of Diplomacy
Institution: Chulalongkorn University, International Program in Design and Architecture (INDA)
Role: Faculty Instructor
Course: Second-year Architectural Design Studio
Scope: Research-based embassy design project
Evgeniia Sidorova led a research-based design project that explored the concept of the embassy as an architectural programme involving identity, representation and institutionalisation. The project was divided into three phases. First, students mapped national identity through symbols, customs, and cultural elements. Then, they analysed institutional architecture through case studies, examining how materiality and design communicate identity. Finally, they designed a medium-scale embassy building in Bangkok. Students navigated the dual contexts of the represented and host countries, addressing the concepts of territoriality, security, diplomacy and community, and creating architecture that functions pragmatically while communicating cultural identity through spatial organisation and architectural expression.
2015: INDA Year 1 Design 2 – Metropolis
Institution: Chulalongkorn University, International Program in Design and Architecture (INDA)
Role: Faculty Instructor
Course: First-year Design Studio
Scope: Large-scale urban design and inhabitation project
Evgeniia Sidorova led a comprehensive urban design project, exploring architecture at all scales, from the metropolis to the individual room. Working together, the students developed a three-kilometre metropolis comprising nine districts, eighty-five blocks and mixed-use programmes to house 100,000 people across diverse landscapes. The curriculum emphasised the relationships between grid organisation, building volumes and human activities. In the final phase, the project uniquely reversed scale, requiring students to design a single habitat for one inhabitant from their metropolitan block. This involved producing written narratives documenting twenty-four hours of occupation, as well as rendered images and detailed axonometric drawings that explored the fundamental definition of living space.
2014: INDA Year 1 Design Tools and Skills – Form and Deformation

Course: First-year Design Foundations
Scope: Three-dimensional form investigation and geometric modelling
Evgeniia Sidorova led a project-based investigation into three-dimensional forms and their two-dimensional patterns, with a focus on Platonic and Archimedean solids. Students progressed by constructing foldable polyhedron models with visible construction lines and creating geometric variations by scaling, rotating and subdividing, while documenting the transformations using GIF animations and executing strategic deformations while maintaining symmetrical logic. The course fostered rigour in model-making and three-dimensional drawing techniques, encouraging iterative work between physical models and technical drawings. This developed fundamental skills in precision, craftsmanship and spatial reasoning, which are essential for architectural design.
2014: INDA Year 1 Design Tools and Skills – Line Studies
Institution: Chulalongkorn University, International Program in Design and Architecture (INDA)
Role: Faculty Instructor
Course: First-year Design Foundations
Scope: Observational drawing and representational techniques
Evgeniia Sidorova taught fundamental drawing techniques by encouraging sustained observation of mechanical objects. The curriculum comprised two sequences: Freehand Inquiries progressed from blind contour drawing, which connects visual attention to tactile feedback, to orthographic projection, producing elevations, plans and sections at a scale of 1:1. Construction and Kinetics challenged students to depict moving objects in constructed drawings using only a compass, a straightedge and a pencil. They had to document kinetic movements using orthographic projections and axonometric details. This labour-intensive methodology emphasised investigation, analytical thinking, and craftsmanship, thereby establishing the foundational skills of precision, observation, and technical representation that are essential for architectural practice.
